FAQ

What is Cardinal Birth Midwifery?

It's a traditional midwifery practice and birth advocacy group rooted in Eastern Pennsylvania.

We offer full-spectrum care — prenatal visits, birth attendance, postpartum support — alongside birth advocacy, functional wellness, and professional training for birth workers.

We've been serving families since 2013. We're not a hospital. We're not a clinic. We're not a corporation.

We're the people you call when you want something real.

Is home birth safe?

For low-risk, well-nourished mothers with an experienced attendant — yes.

Birth is a physiological event. The body is designed for this. It has been doing this for all of human history without hospitals or interventions.

What I bring to every birth: years of hands-on experience, emergency preparedness — hemorrhage response, neonatal resuscitation, clear transfer protocols — and a trained eye for when something falls outside our parameters.

I am not reckless. I am not cavalier. I take this work more seriously than anyone.

Do your research. Ask your midwife the hard questions. Make an informed decision. That's all we've ever asked.

What is traditional midwifery?

It's the oldest form of birth support in human history.

Before hospitals. Before licensing boards. Before billing codes. Women have always supported women through birth — through apprenticeship, lived experience, and passed-down wisdom.

Traditional midwifery is not a lesser version of medical care. It's a different thing entirely. It's patient, present, and rooted in the belief that birth is a physiological event — not a medical emergency waiting to happen.
